Immigration is the process of legally entering a country, whether it be as a tourist or as a place to live. In Mexico, a travel visa is required for residents of certain countries before they are allowed to enter. Travel visas should not be confused with resident visas or with tourist permits, which some people incorrectly call a “tourist visa”. Residents of Canada and the U.S. do not need travel visas but they do need a tourist permit or resident visa.
