I’m a beginner – can you recommend some places to live?
We hear this a lot. As Mexico is such a large and diverse country, there is no one-size-fits-all and we hesitate to make specific recommendations. When thinking about moving to Mexico, it’s very important to not only visit but also live temporarily in your chosen destination before committing fully to it. A vacation, whether it be for a couple of weeks or 6 months, is not going to give you all the information you need. You can get feedback from facebook groups and interact with some of the members to get their opinions, but ultimately you have to choose for yourself and no one knows what’s important to you like you do. The best way to decide on your forever home is to live somewhere year round for at least one full year. Only then will you know what all the seasons (and seasonal neighbors) are like, and you just might find that it’s not what you imagined.
